Agile & Responsive Handling
 Light weight (only 390 lbs. dry), massive torque (the highest in its segment at 63 lbs/ft), and compact chassis offers agile and responsive handling.
Specially Tuned Engine
 The F 800 R engine is especially tuned for for commuters, achieving 87 hp at 8,000 rpm and 63 lb/ft of torque at 6,000 rpm (compared to 85 hp at 7,500 rpm and 62 lb/ft at 5,750 rpm for the F 800 GS dual purpose model)

In Any Gear
 A short final drive and tight gear ratios make for maximized acceleration and responsiveness. By way of comparison, 4th, 5th and 6th gear ratios are shorter than the ones offered in the F 800 GS; in fact, the F 800 R 6th gear matches the F 800 GS 5th gear!
Race Mode
 Then contending with city traffic, the F 800 R has a "track" mode built into the onboard computer (note: only to be used with slick or treadless racing tires on a closed course facility). This mode can on be activated if the power plug is installed to the wiring harness.
Dynamic Design
 Young, edgy and mechanical are all hallmarks of the F 800 R's distinctive personality. This character is typical of the naked bikes now offered in a medium size bike under the BMW brand.
